230 fifth avenue
Knockout views of the spectacular Manhattan skyline are the draw at this frequently crowded, clubby Flatiron roof deck lounge. Stern bouncers lend an aura of exclusivity at the door, but up on the sleek rooftop, decorated with lush palm trees and wooden benches, you’ll find equal opportunity imbibing, live DJs and plenty of eye candy.
Angels & Kings
Angels & Kings Barcelona has a large terrace with a swimming pool, where guests can enjoy cocktails, tapas, beautiful views and a stylish, glamorous open-air atmosphere.
Its design is contemporary, electrifying and Victorian, with vintage style décor and furniture. Furthermore, crystal candelabra selected by Pete Wentz help to create a modern, romantic and unique atmosphere.
The venue has a stage that is the focal point for spontaneous presentations and the legendary Angels & Kings Karaoke battle.
Angels & Kings offers a dynamic atmosphere through its clientele of jetsetters, professionals and Barcelona residents.
The Joule
The rooftop café invites guests to relax on the sprawling pool decks, where chic attendants, outfitted by celebrated designer Abi Ferrin, serve up creative cocktails including the Blossom, Tangerine Mojito, Cucumber Sage Margarita, the Arnie, Watermelon Sangria, and Grape Cooler.
C-View
This lounge on the top floor of the Affinia Chicago Hotel offers incredible views of the Chicago skyline. A “living wall” of greenery and flowers adds an urban-oasis feel to the luxe outdoor terrace with lounge seating and a high communal table.
The lounge’s indoor portion relies on tightly upholstered club chairs in tan leather, glassy pendant lighting and an underlit bar. The look is inviting, but it’s tough to compete with the outdoor space, where glass panels afford unobstructed views and a communal table encourages mingling.
Bar 13
2 indoor floors, each with its own DJ, dance floor, bar and lounge PLUS a rooftop area with a bar and seating areas. Everyone working here is always super friendly and both staff and customers are untypically attitude free.
Moon Bar
This open air bar-restaurant is 61 floors above the streets of Bangkok; sophisticated, romantic and reaching for the clouds, this terrace offers exotic cocktails, wine-by-the-glass or non-alcholic beverages in the bar area, and aslo a restaurant for a memorable dinner of barbecued seafood, such as Grilled Sea Bass with Citrus Salsa and Cilantro.
Aera Bar y Terraza
This rooftop is divided in two levels. The first one has a pool, while the upper level lets guests gather around its outdoor fireplace. Both allow a generous glimpse of the capital city, including a view of the massive national flag that flutters majestically from a tall pole in the distance. As at La Terraza at Condesa, the drinks are generously sized, if a bit pricey. DJs are part of the “party” at the end of the week…
Visit Up
During the Spring and Summer period, the cool atmosphere invades the rooftop terrace: VISIT UP; an open and inviting space to listen to great music, and enjoy a drink under the night sky. There is nothing better than to go up to this oasis in the centre and forget about the heat, stress and the city hubbub. Every Wednesday during the opening season, there will be an event (you can make a reservation by e-mail at miercoles@doyouvisitbarcelona.com)
Skye Restaurant & Bar
The Unique Hotel is shaped like a giant boat, very impressive! The elevator takes you up 8 floors to the rooftop. The roof is full of places to sit and is surrounded by a glass wall which shows the stunning Sao Paulo skyline. There’s also an open air pool, which is reserved for hotel guests during the day but is open to all at night, from 7PM.
DJs entertain with house music after 9PM to an international crowd. The scene is definitely more L.A. than Sao Paulo, down to the extravagant if not bizarre drinks like the wasabi martini, with Hollywood prices to match. An elevator providing a direct access to the bar gives a magnificent panoramic ride to the top.
Plunge at Hotel Gansevoort
The space features one of the city’s only rooftop pool where you can sip cocktails and take in the views of both the Hunson River sunset and the sexy female swimmers. Of course these views don’t come cheap, but quality views are always preferred over quantity.
