This 14th-floor roof deck is surprisingly fun (especially considering the best neighborhood watering hole is probably the bar in Macy’s), with cheap beers, an unpretentious afterwork crowd, and occasional live jazz concerts. Plus, the Empire State Building practically stands next to this laid-back party.

At the rooftop bar of the La Quinta budget hotel in Koreatown, drinkers are evenly divided between newbies saying “I can’t believe I didn’t know about this spot” and old hands nodding knowingly and saying “Yeah, this is my little secret”.
